My first hike for Hike-a-thon 2021 was 4 miles along Alki Beach Trail at 6am on August 1st! I did not have time to drive out to the mountains, so I took advantage of a great urban trail to get some miles under my belt. I started at the Birthplace of Seattle monument and walked for 2 miles along the beach to Duwhamish Head and then back to my car, for a total of 4 miles.

Next up was a layover in Anchorage Alaska and I hiked along the Ship Creek Trail and saw the Salmon swimming upstream and folks fishing and it was just a gorgeous day in Alaska. And I hiked 5 miles along the Ship Creek Trail.
