Hikeathon 2023: Airplanes and more Airplanes and a Dragonfly!

One of my favorite urban hikes for hike-a-thon has to be the Cedar River Trail through Renton, WA. I love looking at all the airplanes being made at the Boeing facility there. I hiked 2 miles along this trail on Thursday.

On Friday, I was on the Des Moines Creek Trail for 2 miles and I saw so many airplanes!! It is right under the flight path for planes taking off from SeaTac Airport and it was super busy. If you want silence in the woods, this hike is not for you, however, if you want blackberries, this is a perfect hike, bring a bucket!!

Southwest

Delta is so clever, they put their name on the bottom of the plane, so you know it is them

On Saturday, I did one mile on the Longfellow Creek Trail in West Seattle.

I  have hiked 20 miles so far this month and we have raised over $900 so far!! Thanks to all my co-workers who gave up a Starbucks to give me $5 this week! LOL  For those of you who have sent me cash and checks, they don't show up on the website immediately, but you will get a Thank You Postcard from me.

Hike-a-thon 2023

Such a busy summer for me and now the WTA hike-a-thon is already in full swing.

I started off the month with one of my all time favorite hikes now, for the third year in a row!! Crystal Mountain. I love taking the Gondola to the top and hiking downhill all the way for 5 miles of hiking.

Lots of folks with dogs because they do allow dogs for hiking here.

The next day, I went to Federation Forest and did 2 miles on the many trails there. Then I had to go off to work.

Coming home again, I did 5 miles on the Alki Beach Trail.

I have 12 miles already and $439 dollars donated so far.
