Book List May 2023

The Ghost Fields by Elly Griffiths (library) I am still not on track to read these in order of publication, which is annoying me, but this one came between The Outcast Dead (which I read first) and The Woman in Blue which I read last month...I really do want to read them in order, but I am at the mercy of my library!! LOL
The ZigZag Girl by Elly Griffiths (library) so this is another series by Elly Griffiths and the mysteries involve magicians. This is the first book in the series, so I thought I would try it while waiting for the next in the archeologist series. It is good, but I don't love it like I do the other series.
Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks (library) I am just getting around to reading this one by Brooks. Love all her books. This one is about the Plague (1666) Interesting reading this after all we went through during Covid
A Room Full of Bones by Elly Griffiths (library) still getting these out of order, which is annoying somewhat, but I really enjoy the interplay between the characters and the mysteries that she solves.
Dead Heat by Dick Francis (audiobook) listened to this one in my car. The protagonist is a chef. I find that the different professions that he ties in with horse racing are very interesting. It seems that there is not a thing that cannot be tied into horse racing!! LOL
Saturday Night by Susan Orlean (library) what makes Saturday night so special?
The Janus Stone by Elly Griffiths during a recent visit to several used bookstores, I was able to get this one and return back to trying to read these books "in order" This is the second in the series!! I was still on hold at the library with no end in sight.
Bloody Genius by John Sandford (library) A Virgil Flowers and I am not sure how I missed this one, but I did and the story was all new to me! Ha ha
Locked Room by Elly Griffiths (library) still reading these out of order! This one was really good in my opinion as a stand alone because it takes place while Covid is happening, as the world shuts down. So that made a big impact on how everyone does their job.
